Explorers are here: Metropolix is now shared
Walk or drive through Metropolix and you are no longer alone. Pick a name, meet other explorers live, and save your progress with just an email.
Metropolix is now a shared place. Anyone walking or driving through it right now can see everyone else who is out exploring.
- Pick an explorer name when you set out (letters and numbers, capitals welcome). It sits above your head, and other explorers see it too.
- Every explorer gets a look of their own that stays with them, so nobody looks quite like you.
- Explorers now, at the bottom left, shows who is out right now and where; tap a name to find them on the map. They show as gold dots on the minimap too.
- Save your progress with just your email: we send you a username and a password. Confirm the email within 30 minutes to keep the account.
- Your explorer card keeps your numbers: time in Metropolix, places and startups visited, distance walked and driven, top speed.
The streets feel more alive as well. People passing by may say hello as you walk past, the crowd is more varied, and the traffic has been resized to real proportions on wider lanes.
Tap a car and your explorer walks to the right door and climbs in. Hold forward on the keyboard to break into a run. And there is a second car to drive now, if you can find it.
Head into Metropolix and say hello.
