The Metropolix vision: a digital home for startups
A gamified startup ecosystem, in a fun, productive and highly beneficial way for any startup across the globe, and beyond ;) Your startup's address on the digital world, in this era of superintelligence.
Why a place
Most places that list startups are directories or feeds. A directory is a list: you are one row among thousands, and nobody walks past you. A feed forgets you the day after you post. Neither gives a young startup what a real high street gives a small business: an address people can find, neighbours, a street with a reputation and a reason to come back.
Metropolix is built on that idea: a startup does not get a listing, it gets a place.
What we believe
- Founders should be easy to find. Great startups start small and unseen. Visibility should not require an advertising budget.
- Credibility is earned and shared. Every startup in Metropolix is verified and and the Startup Fortune feature puts a platform that has worked with founders for over ten years behind it.
- Fair by design. The ranking follows real visits and likes, not who pays most. Parks, squares and common places are never for sale.
- Light and fast. It has to work on any phone and any laptop without eating memory or battery, because founders are on the move.
How Metropolix is organised
Metropolix is made of streets and avenues, blocks and spaces. Avenues run straight; cross streets are staggered, so blocks are long and varied. Founders Street is the high street and runs through every row; AI Avenue crosses it at the centre, where the Startup Fortune head office, Founders Park and the first spaces sit.
A space is what a startup adds itself to. There are three sizes, Startup, Rising and Head Quarters (and Landmark, a whole block by request), and every space keeps one empty grid square to its neighbours so buildings never crowd. Between the blocks are parks, squares, a river and common places that give Metropolix room to breathe.
Three layers that work together
- Metropolix: a living map where you have an address, a building and neighbours.
- The startup page: a fast, public page for every startup at metropolix.io/founders/your-name, built so search engines and AI search can read, understand and cite it.
- The Startup Fortune feature, included with annual plans: a Branding Feature, a Premium Feature or a Premium Founder Feature, published by Startup Fortune as part of its regular features.
Phase 1: the Founders Area (open now)
Metropolix opens in phases, and by invitation. The first is the Founders Area: 99 spaces for founding startups, one startup and one address each. They take the first and best addresses, and Startup Fortune holds a space of its own.
Later phases: more of Metropolix
When the Founders Area is full, more of Metropolix opens in later phases. New streets and districts open outward from the centre, with a marketplace for renting and selling spaces, commerce between members and more things to do.
Building it together
The founding startups will work closely with the Startup Fortune team to build and expand Metropolix. They are the first residents and they help shape what comes next.
